Newsletter to Lendy Park Parents 27th January 2015
Dear Parents,
Compliments of the new year to you all! I do pray that, despite the challenges we are facing, this will be
a year filled with blessings from the Lord. He is able to do far more abundantly than we ask, think, or
even imagine!
Some items for your attention:
1. Welcome
I welcome parents whose children are new at the school, either in Grade 1 or in other classes. I
do hope you and your children will be really happy here.
2. Mrs Bolas.
This has been a very hard time for us as a staff with the death of Mrs. Bolas. As I said at the
memorial service, she was a wonderful lady and a wonderful teacher. She was totally committed
to the vision and mission of the school and to the children she taught. It was wonderful to see so
many past pupils at the service. Rose was also a great friend, and even though she was retiring,
she was going to be doing some progress centre work here, and we are already missing her very
much. However, she is now with the Lord she loved so much.
I want to thank those parents who came to be with us at the memorial service. Your presence
was so much appreciated.
3. Uniforms.
(a) Please make sure that all items of uniform are marked with your child`s name. There are
even labels for shoes these days, which should please those parents who have had to
replace lost shoes!
(b) Please make sure that you buy your child the new red sports shirt available at Machipisa
store in Marondera. This will be required by those children in the (B) sports teams and also
at inter house events (and one coming up this term). So it is essential that every child has
one.
4. Lunches
We are now offering to provide lunches for your children who stay for afternoon activities. The
lunch will be light, with e.g. a hamburger or hot dog or similar, and a fruit, at a cost of $35.00
per month. If you want to have your child eat school lunches, please let Mrs. Kelly know, and the
bill will be added to your account. If you have already paid the full fees, please send the money
to the office or pay into the school account.
We will start on Monday next week and so February will be the first month to pay for. The
Children will eat at Hostel 2. However, please let Mrs. Kelly know this week. Children who just
arrive will not be catered for.
5. SMIS
We are moving onto a new computer programme at the school, which will help us capture
information more efficiently. It is called School Management Information System. You will
eventually have your own number on the system and be able to open any relevant information.
The staff will be having a workshop on Friday afternoon this week to get updated. My sincere
thanks to Norman Nhliziyo and Dr. Farai Dzuda who are spear-heading this.
I wish you a very blessed term, rich in the goodness of the Lord.
Sincerely, Mrs. Martin
