PURPOSE
The position will assist the Recreation and Environment Team to develop,
implement and maintain Environmental initiatives, strategies, policies and practices
across the organisation that encourage the thoughtful and innovative application of
best practice environmental management within the Adelaide Shores precinct.
KEY RESULT AREAS
1. ENVIRONMENTAL
Critical Tasks
 Update and implement Environmental Action Plans,
policies & procedures in line with the Environmental
Management Plan and Environmental Management
System;
 Assess Adelaide Shores internally for environmental
compliance including facilitating environmental site
inspections and auditing of site changes to ensure
compliance with EMP and legislation;
 Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of
Sustainability and Innovation Group program and
initiatives;
 Monitor the environmental performance of Adelaide
Shores, guests, visitors and tenants and report
quarterly and annually against Key Environmental
Performance Indicators, environmental issues,
strategies and actions;
 Liaise with government agencies, relevant
environmental organisations, committees and
stakeholders as required;
 Assist in the develop environmental educational
programs and materials for staff, guest and visitors;
 Maintain and update policies and procedures as
required.

2. PLANNING AND STRATEGY

 Assist in the coordinating the development,
implementation and review of Adelaide Shores’
Environmental Management System;
 Assist in research for development and
implementation of business and strategic plans;
 Attract external funds to assist in improving Adelaide
Shores performance;
 Ensure the EMP and EMS remains relevant and up
to date.

environmental advice to employees and
supervisors to support an environmentally friendly
work environment and destination for the
community;
Support the Recreation and Environment team in
the fulfillment of their operations ;
Preparation and maintenance of documentation for
Recreation and Environment team;
Manage databases and provide accurate statistical
information to supervisors to assist them in meeting
their environmental management KPI's.
Appropriate training programs carried out.
Environmental issues addressed accurately and
within expected timeframes.
