Completed Business:
The EC mainly conducted activities by email exchanges. One conference call was organized on April 8,
2015. Completed business concerned the following topics:
1. Travel funds for speakers
The requirements for travel funds for speakers participating to regional conferences in developing
countries have been established.
They were included in the announcement of fund availability (December 2014, message from IBO
to the regional officers).
One application was received for the Eastern Mediterranean Region IBS meeting to be held in
May 2015 (actually, it was received before the announcement and had motivated the
clarifications).
The application was approved in April (during a conference call of the EC).
2. Short course proposals for IBC2016
The call for short course proposals appeared in the Biometrics Bulletin, Volume 31 issue 3
(October 15, 2014) and was emailed to IBS members as well.
16 proposals were received by March 16, 2015 and were assessed by the EC members.
During a conference call of the EC (April 8, 2015), the list was reduced and a survey for reviewing
the short list was decided.
3. Journal Club
Contact with Biometrics has resulted in a list of some possible papers for a pilot. We found some
one willing to help with a trial run of the Journal Club: Aurelien Latouche (French region)
Current Business:

Recommendations to Executive Board:
A word of gratitude here: the IBO staff was of great help, in particular for gathering information needed at
any step. Thanks to them, we were also able to have our first conference call meeting in April and
implementation of what had been decided was very prompt and smooth. In the near future, we will likely
need also resources for the journal club pilot.
