Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your interest in Nature Coast Middle School. We are a publically funded charter
school. There is no tuition to attend our school. This packet contains information necessary to make your
child eligible for admission to the school. Until all documents and information required in this packet are
received, your child will not be eligible for admission. Documents required include the following:
 Hard copies of a student’s final report card
 Copies of a student’s IEP or 504 Plan
 FCAT, Stanford 10, or similar test results
This application is only current until February 1st of the school year in which you wish to enroll. A new
application must be submitted each year thereafter.
If your contact information changes, you are responsible for contacting the school and reporting
the change. If the school is unable to contact you by telephone because your number no longer works,
your application will be added to the waiting list.
If there are more applications than available spaces at the school (which happens frequently),
Florida Law requires that the school have a lottery to place the application in rank order (first come, first
in line) if an opening occurs. In order to make your application active before the lottery, you may have to
attend an orientation meeting or meetings at the school. Only students of parents who attend the
orientation meetings will be eligible for enrollment. In order to make your application active before the
lottery, your student may have to take placement tests to see which class is most appropriate at the school.
Only those students who have the necessary testing (placement, FCAT, EOC, Stanford 10) will be
eligible for enrollment.
The Board of Directors will determine enrollment periods for each school year. If an opening
occurs during an enrollment period, the person first in line on the lottery list for that grade level will be
contacted and offered the spot at the school. If that person declines or does not respond immediately, the
school will contact the next applicant on the lottery list, and so on until the vacancy is filled.
