Biography
Davy Vancampfort, PhD, PT, is a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Leuven, Belgium. He
worked for 10 years as a mental health physical therapist with persons with psychotic disorders, mood
disorders and eating disorders at the UPC KU Leuven, campus Kortenberg. Dr. Vancampfort is editorial
board member of the Spanish Journal of Physical Therapy and of Mental Health and Physical Activity.
Davy Vancampfort published over 150 (inter)national peer-reviewed papers on mental health and physical
therapy. Several of Davy's papers are published in top medical journals including the American Journal of
Psychiatry (IF 14.721) and World Psychiatry (IF 12.846). Davy Vancampfort is chair of the International
Organization of Physical Therapy in Mental Health special interest group on schizophrenia.
