Genetics Independent Study Project
Write a 1-2 page essay that addresses the impact of genetic engineering on humans. Be sure to discuss
a brief history of the science behind genetic engineering (recombinant DNA), the Human Genome
Project, and the discovery of the double-helix structure of DNA. Also be sure to include a discussion of
the ethical issues that genetic engineering human traits might have on our society in the future as
genetic engineering technology advances (employment, treating disease, health insurance, etc.).
This essay should be typed, double-spaced, times new roman font, 12-pt sized font and should include a
reference list of at least 2 different credible sources. This project is due by Monday, February 18th.
