Daily practice activity for citing text based evidence in conversation and/or writing:

Monday: Read Vocabulary Reader “Young Horse” and respond with a summary using two cites for comparing this
story with the Anchor Text “Old Yeller”

Tuesday: Turn and Talk pg 222, Use one cite from the story to answer the essential Question: How can dangerous
situations bring people closer to closer?

Wednesday: Read pg 224, supplemental text “What makes it good?” and compare and contrast with the Anchor
Text using no less than three cites form text.

Thursday: Pg 227, respond to Text to Text with a partner and share ideas. Critique partners response with
accountable talk and reference evidence for rebuttal response.
