A total yarding of 839 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Prime Sale on
Thursday.
Steers over 550kg sold to 304c/kg and averaged 299c/kg, while steers in the 400550kg earned to 300c/kg and averaged 290c/kg. Heifers over 450kg sold to 297c/kg
and averaged 281c/kg, while heifers in the 350-450kg sold to 267c/kg and averaged
267c/kg. Cows over 500kg peaked at 266c/kg and averaged 255c/kg, while cows in
the 400-500kg class topped at 258c/kg and averaged 243c/kg. Cows 300-400kg sold
to 255c/kg and averaged 220c/kg. Bulls over 600kg topped at 283c/kg and averaged
263c/kg.
