Quantum Spirituality: Awaken & Balance Your Inner &
Outer Senses - Class 1 Intro
Enter - Walking Outer Awareness Meditation
Welcome - to our class on Shaghal: Experiencing the Source
through the Sufi practice of Shaghal or Awaken & Balance Your Inner
and Outer Senses.
“Everything you see has its roots in the unseen world. The forms
may change, yet the essence remains the same. Every wonderful
sight will vanish, every sweet word will fade, but do not be
disheartened, the source they come from is eternal, growing,
branching out, giving new life and new joy. Why do you weep? The
source is within you and this whole world is springing up from
it." Rumi

-Your 5 senses inner & outer
From a quantum neuroscience perspective what happens when you
touch, taste, smell, see or hear something?
“When you first notice something, certain wave frequencies resonate
in the neurons in your brain. These neurons send information about
these frequencies to another set of neurons. The second set of
neurons makes a Fourier translation of these frequencies and sends
the resulting information to a third set of neurons, which then begins
to construct a pattern that will eventually make up the virtual image
you project out into space…..In the act of observation, you are
transforming the timeless, spaceless world of wave interference
patterns into the concrete and discreet world of space time.” From
The Field
Projector metaphor for going out and going in. The intoxication of life
and turning the light around. “Balance is the message of the day.”
HIK We will work with increasing our inner & outer, both support
each other.
In the Shaghal practice we are trying to reconnect with the
fundamental energy wave patterns that form our perceptions. “That
which transpires behind that which appears.” We trace the senses
back and into the field of the heart. We reconnect with the underlying
wave nature of reality, allowing us to connect with our wave nature
and the larger energetic organizing field of the cosmos.
The path of divine energy.
Chant: The Manifest - The Hidden or Ya Zahir - Ya Batin. Bringing
balance to your awareness of your inner and outer worlds. Outloud
then on the breath, then feeling the field.
Shaghal Meditation Combined (Group Hu to set field)
Find a comfortable, secluded place to sit where you will not be
disturbed.
Practice this mudra to symbolized and support you in going to the
inner world. If it helps you can place your elbows on your knees to
provide support for your arms. Close the holes of your ears with your
thumbs. With your index finger gently shut your eyelids without
pressing the fingers upon your eyeballs. Place your ring and pinky
fingers on your upper and lower lips in order to close your mouth.
Place your two middle fingers on the two sides of your nose: the right
middle finger on the right side, and the left middle finger on the left.
While closing your senses as above breathe in slowly while imagining
drawing your breath down into your heart and feeling the inner world.
You can silently say “the hidden” or Ya Batin as you inhale. Retain
your breath for as long as you can do so easily, without feeling
suffocated.
Then when ready exhaling slowly while opening and sensing the outer
world. You can silently recite “the manifest” or Ya Zahir as you exhale.
You can hold in the emptiness after the exhale, sensing the outer
world.
Do 10 X. With each inhalation tracing the outer image (like the
projection) back to your inner world, with each exhalation going back
to the outer world!
“Anyone whose heart has become refined sees in the inner world
beautiful and refined forms, hears exquisite music, tastes delicious
viands. But when the heart is burdened with coarseness, one sees
horrible forms and hears dreadful sounds during one's wanderings
in sleep. One sees only the things that exist on the physical plane and
feels no pleasure and delight.
There is a general rule that when the attractive power of the
corporal body overwhelms the soul, the soul becomes coarse like the
body. On the other hand, when the attractive power of the soul
brings the corporal body under control, the body in turn becomes
subtle like this soul….
My friend when you have practiced this noble practice of breath
control for sometime, you will feel a sensation of heat, a great
delight, and a subtle illumination in your heart and throughout your
body. All of your coarseness and tiredness will completely vanish,
and you will feel great zest and immeasurable ecstasy. The taste of
this practice once acquired will keep you away from all idleness.
When you practice this method of breast retention fix your attention
on your heart, because during this practice a sound can be heard
coming from within you. This sound is sometimes like a big boiling
cauldron or sometimes like the buzzing of a nest of bees. Do not
imagine that this sound is a hallucination of your senses. The entire
universe, inside and out, is filled with this sound. It is the great voice
of silence.”
