Trust in the Lord with All Your Heart
Gospel Value: Courage
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,
plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
Dear OLR Families,
Happy New Year! This is a special time, inviting us to look back on the previous
year and look forward to the new year ahead. As we look back on 2014, we
contemplate on what brought us great joy. We also think of our loved ones and
friends and all the happy memories and how each enriched our lives. The new
year brings an exciting sense of renewal, recommitment and new horizons as
resolutions are made and new opportunities are considered. It is a time that
lends itself perfectly to reflection and prayer.
The new year also provides us with a wonderful opportunity to renew and
rededicate our lives to the Lord. The work of the Holy Spirit in the world, in the
Church and in our own lives is always focused on renewal, reform and
refreshment. God is the God of new things, the God of unexpected and exciting
surprises. This is truly an exciting time to count our blessings and to renew our
commitment to serve the Lord.
We are about to celebrate National Catholic Schools Week starting on January
25-31. Our theme for this special celebration is “Catholic Schools: Communities
of Faith, Knowledge and Service.” We will observe this weeklong event with
Masses, Open Houses, Pancake Breakfast, Scholastic Book Faire, and other
activities for our students, school families, guests, and parishioners. Through
these events, we will focus on the value of a Catholic education and providing
our young people with a holistic education. We invite you to attend all of the
festivities and welcome everyone to learn more about Our Lady of the Rosary
School.
Trust in the Lord,
Maureen Christensen

Prayers Needed: Please keep these families in your prayers –the Morrow/Pet family (Joshua-2),
the Munoz family (Adriana-3), and the Munoz family (Alicia-3, Hector-4). We also pray for Mrs.
Wolley’s family as they support a loved one as she battles cancer. We pray for Mrs. Christensen’s
father and Mrs. Chu’s father who are both very ill. We pray for Mrs. Grace Rodriguez’s (Joseph-1)
father who went to heaven on Dec. 20. Fortunately, he was surrounded by 22 of his family
members when he passed away. We pray in gratitude for all of our OLR families and ask God’s
blessings upon them in the new year. May they put their trust in Lord and renew and strengthen
their faith in Him.
Service Hours: Just a friendly reminder that half of your family’s Service Hours (25 hours for two
parent households and 12.5 hours for single parent households) are due by January 21. PLEASE
NOTE: We will extend the due date to Monday, Jan. 26, so that our families fulfill their hours by
helping out at the Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, Jan. 25 (after all masses). We have a number
of opportunities to earn these hours (e.g. helping out at our fundraisers, working on our new
library, or handyman projects around the school to name just a few ideas). Please contact the
School Office to see how you can help! Thank you for your continued support.
