Recruitment Counselor (Rho Gamma) Application Packet

Thank you for your interest in becoming an Lenoir-Rhyne University Panhellenic Recruitment
Counselor. Recruitment Counselors, otherwise known as Rho Gammas, play a vital role before
and during recruitment. They help not only the Panhellenic Council but all of the potential new
members in order for Lenoir-Rhyne University to have a successful recruitment. They provide
support, friendship and personal guidance to all of the new women as well as to promote the
whole sorority community, not any specific chapter.
Applicants must be active and initiated members of a sorority. Applicants must also be able to
attend ALL Recruitment Counselor training sessions.
Important Dates:
 ALL Rho Gamma Meetings, April 15, 2014 6-9p.m.
 Disaffiliation- May 12, 2014
 Admission days- June 16,19, 23, 27, and August 12, 2014 (TBD)
 Rho Gamma Retreat- August 1-3, 2014
 Recruitment Registration Table- 11-1, August 26-29, 2014
 Greek interest night- August 27, 2014 6-9p.m.
 Recruitment Week: Monday, September 1 – Saturday, September 6
**If you cannot attend all of these events, please do not submit an application.
Please turn applications in to the Student Life office in Cromer Center no later than 4:30 p.m.
on Friday, March 14, 2014. No late applications will be accepted. Rho Gamma interviews will
take place the week of March 24-26, 2014. You will be contacted no later than Monday, March
31, 2014 if you are chosen for an interview. For additional information, please contact the

Recruitment Counselor Job Description
Once selected as a Recruitment Counselor, it is your responsibility to become disaffiliated from
your chapter. This is done so the Recruitment Counselor can better promote the entire
university and all chapters that make up the Panhellenic Association. You will gain knowledge
during training about every chapter and about recruitment rules and procedures so that you can
be a knowledgeable resource to all potential new members. Recruitment Counselors aid PNMs
throughout the recruitment process as well as give these women their first impressions of LRU
and our entire fraternity and sorority community.

Recruitment Counselor Agreement
I, ___________________________, am aware that being a Recruitment
Counselor is a great honor and an extreme commitment that will take true
dedication on my part. I understand that I will have time commitments every
week for this position. By signing this, I agree that I will make all weekly
meetings and other obligations. I understand the importance of Red and Black
days (Admission events),Greek Interest Night, Recruitment Counselor Retreat,
recruitment registration, and Fall Recruitment. I realize that my presence is
imperative to the success of the entire recruitment process. I agree to show up
promptly to every event unless an emergency situation arises and in that case I
will contact the Vice President of Panhellenic. Any absences not excused by the
Vice President of Panhellenic will result in my dismissal as a Recruitment
Counselor. If I am dismissed prior to Greek Interest Night, I will return to my
chapter for the rest of the recruitment process. If I am dismissed after Greek
Interest Night I am aware that I will be unable to return to my chapter for the
rest of the recruitment process.
I will be able to disaffiliate from my chapter and keep all information confidential
throughout the period of my position and after my role is completed.
