RE: <name of grant>
Dear <addressee>,
I would be delighted to provide my support for your X Core within your UM1 proposal <name of grant>. My
ADCC core laboratory will gladly assess the magnitude, breadth, kinetics and durability of XX. In addition, we can
provide measurement of X that may be linked to additional X. I do not ask for any funding for this work, as my
laboratory is already supported by an NIH contract to act as a Central Immunology Laboratory for preclinical
vaccine studies of this kind under the PAVEG program led by Dr. X.
Sincerely,
<Addressor>

RE: <name of grant>
Dear <addressee>,
I am writing to confer my strongest possible support for your NIH/NIAID UM1 application entitled, <name of
grant>. As X of the School of Medicine, I assure you that, if funded, UW Medicine will continue to provide
space and administrative support to assist your continued success.
As you are aware, faculty in the UW School of Medicine are at the forefront of AIDS research. In
particular, the laboratory space and infrastructure that will be used for the proposed work at our
South Lake Union campus and the Washington National Primate Research Center are among the
best at the University of Washington. In particular, the BSLZ space and computing infrastructure
at Rosen facilities and the ABSL3 and BSL3 spaces at the Washington National Primate Research
Center are exceptional for this work. UW Medicine is particularly proud of our infectious disease
programs including world-class leaders in AIDS research that extends to UW SOM affiliated
faculty located at the nearby Seattle Children's and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
Your proposal is a wonderful example of the multidisciplinary and translational research that
extend through the University of Washington and the Seattle area.
I am very excited about your goal in this proposal <name of grant>. This work has great potential to help
guide and determine the XX. I am also impressed by the strong interdisciplinary approach and consortium
you have assembled for this endeavor including world class virologists, immunologists, pathologists,
computational experts and mathematicians. I wholeheartedly endorse your current application and ask that
you please keep me closely informed of the progress of the application process.
Sincerely,
<Addressor>
