Our Infrastructure & Environment (I&E) Division creates solutions in Industrial Infrastructure, Transportation, Marine,
Mining, Water & Wastewater Treatment, Waste Management, Environmental Management, Contaminated Sites and
Water Resources.

The Mining Engineer position is a full time role located in our Burnaby (Vancouver), BC operations in the
Infrastructure & Environment Division. It is expected that the position will also spend considerable time on site in
Labrador. As our ideal candidate for this dynamic and challenging role, your responsibilities will consist of the
following tasks:











Provide a technical support role in all aspects of project work and business development in the mining
industry
Provide technical input and project management for surface and underground mining projects in Canada
and worldwide
Conduct preliminary surveys and studies of ore, mineral or coal deposits to assess the economic and
environmental feasibility of potential mining operations
Supervise and co-ordinate the work of technicians, technologists, survey personnel, and other junior
engineers and scientists
Plan, organize and supervise the development of mines and mine structures and the operation and
maintenance of mines
Prepare operations and project estimates, schedules and reports
Implement and co-ordinate mine safety programs
Mine planning, economic analysis, cost estimation, reclamation, mine design and rock mechanics
Preparation of preliminary assessments, pre-feasibility and feasibility level reports
Engineering studies, operational advise and due diligence reporting projects
Consultation on projects for variety of clients in Canada, Americas and internationally
Job Requirements











The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3years of relevant Mining Engineering Underground and/ or
Open Pit production and/or consulting experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering
Master’s Degree (research) in rock mechanics or mine planning is highly desirable
Ability to communicate in English and/or French is a requirement
Excellent technical report writing skills are must
Registered Professional or eligibility for Professional Registration in BC
Management or Supervisory experience in a production environment
Proven cost modelling skills and experience
Ability to establish and maintain excellent client relationships and good communication skills
Willingness to travel and to spent considerable time on site when required
Mining software skills and experience are must: Vulcan, Surpac, Datamine(Studio 3), MineSight, etc.
Salary rage - $70,000 to $85,000 per annum.
