Data Scientist

WHO ARE WE:

Qompium is a young start-up with the ambition to develop medically certified, sustainable and user-friendly mobile applications to improve health. Our first application, FibriCheck, is a tool to detect and follow-up on Atrial Fibrillation. This project aims at supporting our R&D activities in signal and feature analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Design and develop machine learning algorithms from vital sign signals in

Matlab, Python, C or C++

Demonstrate algorithms meet accuracy requirements on general subject population through statistical analyses and error estimation.

Provide guidance to data collection teams on test protocols including design of experiments, sample size, and statistical distributions.

Write technical reports summarizing development, analysis, training and validation of the algorithms.

Provide design input specifications, requirements, and guidance to software engineers for algorithm implementation for product development.

Provide presentations to the management and cross-functional teams.

Provide expertise in machine learning (e.g. deep learning, classification, and regression techniques), data mining, signal processing, and statistics.

Stay up-to-date in the field of machine learning and signal processing. Apply new technologies in development of Qompium products.

Summarize new ideas in patent applications.

Other duties as assigned by manager.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, TRAINING, TRAITS:

M.Sc. or Ph.D. in computer science, data science, statistics, applied mathematics, engineering, or similar.

Expertise in machine learning, data mining and signal processing.

Programming skills in Matlab, Python, C, C++.

Ability to collaborate with work conducted by outside vendors and to ensure compliance with design control and other applicable Qompium standard operating procedures.

ABILITIES:

Ability to define problems, form hypotheses, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
