DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



















Preparation of unit for receiving pre-operative patients.
Proper taking and handling over.
Knowledge about cardiac monitor and accessories.
Receiving patients from ward, without delay.
Ability to connect the patient on monitor, set alarm, identify problems and report promptly.
Assessment of the patient.
Transfusion of blood and blood products.
Administration of medications.
Provide physical, psychological and social support to the patient and the family.
Care of lines like Epidural line, Central line, Arterial line, Peripheral lines, Inter coastal
drainages and wound drains.
Removal of Invasive lines, drains and tubing’s.
Defibrillator and cardio version.
Collection of blood samples for laboratory investigations, culture and sensitivity etc.
Ventilator setting and care of ventilated patients.
Meeting emergencies like cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest.
Take part in preventing infection.
Follow the policies and ethics of O.T protocol strictly.
Responsible for proper handling and maintaining the equipment.
Usage of equipment and supplies judiciously, economically and avoid wastage.


