Job Title: Women’s Center Resident Manager
Type of Staff: Part-time (non-exempt)
Staff Supervisor: Women’s Center Director
Job Overview:
Under the supervision of the Women’s Center Director, the Resident Manager is responsible for
overseeing, facilitating, and coordinating the daily activities of the Women’s Center. She will be
responsible for making sure the environment of the Center is safe and nurturing, and ensures that the
needs of the clients and Center have been met, all in accordance with the goals and objectives of the
programs, policies, and procedures.
The Resident Manager will be the Center’s point of contact and liaison for all business at the Center;
including clients, volunteers, churches, hospitals, law enforcement officials, emergency personnel,
visitors, transportation, etc. The Lead Resident Manager will have clear understanding and
interpretation of all policies and procedures as outlined in the Women’s Center Policy and Procedures
Manual and will have the ability to appropriately implement as needed with accurate documentation.













Job Qualifications:
Must conform to KCRM’s Qualifications for Employment, support the Statement of Belief, and
Mission, Vision and Values as outlined in the KCRM Employee Handbook
Must possess a strong Christian character and be loyal, patient, tactful, pliable, and teachable
Minimum of 2 years’ experience and practice in the social service field with knowledge,
sensitivity, and experience in areas focused on women’s needs; experience with homelessness,
domestic violence, trauma, substance abuse, human trafficking, mental illness and/or other
challenges. Bachelor’s Degree preferred and valid driver’s license required
Committed to increasing personal knowledge in understanding homeless services
Excellent follow-up skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to find creative solutions
Demonstrate an ability to work and interact appropriately in the field with people from diverse
backgrounds. Must be compassionate and understanding of the clients
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Knowledgeable and proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize, pay attention to detail, and to complete tasks in a
professional timely manner
Ability to both take direction and to work autonomously when necessary
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while exposed to the
disturbing emotional and physical traumas of clients
Ability and willingness to work as a team member and support the mission and goals of the
KCRM Women’s Center
Understands safety risks faced by women and staff confronting issues of domestic violence,
human trafficking, mental illness, and substance abuse

Commitment to the confidentiality and safety of women in the Center; strict adherence to the
KCRM Women’s Center policies and procedures
Duties and Responsibilities:



















Supervise and lead the day-to-day operations of the Women’s Center including legal,
psychological, medical, spiritual, and general activities, ensuring that all are functioning
according to Policy and Procedure and meeting the needs of clients
Transport clients to activities as needed
Maintain accurate records and documentation of all clients and their activities and behaviors,
monitor progress and length of stay, handle all client emergencies according to policy, and
coordinate client exit strategies in partnership with the program staff
Manage meal times which include taking inventory of food stock, coordinating meals with the
Men’s Center, serving food, and assisting in healthy meal preparation by clients or volunteers
Punctual with regular attendance while ensuring all shifts are appropriately staffed
Maintain communication with and give support to the on-duty Security Guard/Receptionist
Appropriately handle conflicts among clients, staff, and volunteers; maintaining professionalism
with an ability to de-escalate aggressive behaviors and communication (quiet voice, empathy,
understanding, and a Christ-like example)
Perform regular assessments and inventory regarding the Center’s physical needs (including
food, sanitation, supplies, maintenance, etc.) and provide necessary items for clients
Identify gaps and strengths in service provision and work with the Center Director and
Facility/Operations Manager to ensure that all needs are met
Ensure that clients are coming and going to/from the center according to procedure
Perform bed checks to be sure clients are on the premises and in their rooms by curfew
Prepare and monitor the chore and laundry schedule and assist clients with details
Enforce the Women’s Center Guidelines and Code of Conduct through verbal reminders; handle
violations according to policy; and document all client activities
Maintain the physical safety of all clients according to procedures outlined and handle
psychiatric, recovery-related, and other resident/client emergencies that may arise
Maintain policies regarding confidentiality
Implement evacuation procedures and emergency response procedures as needed
Oversee volunteers, input data into the volunteer and donor data base, provide resources for
volunteers, and help determine service projects
Attend staff and shift-change meetings, necessary trainings as assigned, and communicate with
the Center Director about the activities and needs of the Center
