EXPECTATIONS: WORD
Create a 7-10 page report outlining your business idea. The plan should follow the format outlined
on the Summer Company website. You must, however, use formatting tools used in this class,
including headers and footers, titles pages, headings, etc.
EXPECTATIONS: EXCEL
Create the following in an Excel Spreadsheet:
1. Sales Forecast
a. Sale price for your product/idea
b. Estimated sales for 3 months. How many units will you expect to sell per month?
c. Estimated costs for 3 months. What will be the costs associated with your business?
2. Cash flow forecast. Create a cash flow forecast, using the examples on the Summer
Company website as guide.
EXPECTATIONS: ACCESS
Create a customer database with the following information:
a. Table with at least 20 pieces of data (ie: 20 customers). Information you might want to
gather: Name (first and last), phone, address, credit card type, credit card number, amount
owing (outstanding balance), purchase history, last transaction date, etc.
b. 5 queries, including two “Advanced” queries.
c. Two reports displaying the results from your queries. The reports should be neatly
formatted, contain your logo (bonus), and have a clear title.
EXPECTATIONS: POWERPOINT & PRESENTATION
Create a PowerPoint presentation to sell your idea to me; this presentation could then be used on
the Summer Company panel. Remember, you are interested in gaining their financing, so you need
to sell me on your idea, and what you will use their money for. The presentation should be about 10
slides long. Your slideshow should contain photos, logos, financials, screenshots of your website,
etc.
Enthusiasm and energy for your idea/product is important to the presentation.
EXPECTATIONS: LOGO
Create a logo for your product / business idea. The logo needs to be ORIGINAL. You need to
create multiple versions of your logo. You should have the following:
- Full size logo (Corel Draw file)
- Small logo (shrunk version, exported as a jpg or gif)
- Summary logo (for letterhead, business cards, etc.)
