Keynote Speakers
Zoe Ridolfi-Starr
Zoe is the Deputy Director of “Know Your IX”, a survivor-run and youth-driven organization working to end
gender-based violence on college campuses. During her undergraduate studies at Columbia University, she
founded the activist group “No Red Tape” and was the lead complainant in a prominent Title IX complaint
against her school. She has also led legislative advocacy efforts on city, state, and federal levels to strengthen
campus options for survivors and to reduce reliance on the criminal justice system as a response to violence.
Marta Miranda
Marta is the CEO for the Center for Women and Families in Louisville, Kentucky and former Chair of the
Women and Gender Studies Department at Eastern Kentucky University. While at EKU, Marta was coinvestigator for a grant from the Department of Justice that funded EKU-SAFE, a campus violence prevention
program focused on bystander training. A licensed social worker, Miranda has been actively engaged in
ending sexual violence in Kentucky since 1996, when she first joined the Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center as a
psychotherapist.

Administrators and Students
Walking the Walk: This session aims to bring students and administrators together at
the same table for a shared experience, discussion, and collaborative action planning to
create a culture of safety and respect on campuses. Walking the Walk is a participatory
exercise designed to allow participants to experience the issues and emotions survivors
of sexual violence may face. Facilitated by Mae Suramek, Executive Director, Bluegrass
Rape Crisis Center and Jennifer Johnson, Advocacy Coordinator, Bluegrass Rape Crisis
Center.
