Miss Montgomery’s first grade classroom Fall 2013
In my classroom the data results are from the beginning of our spelling and
grammar unit. The students were given a pre test on the first day of class to assess
their knowledge of the spelling words that they knew from the kindergarten
classroom. There is three different homework assignments listed in the chart as
well as the first test the students had and a similar assessment test to check the
students knowledge after the first test (post-test)
The students in my classroom have a wide variety of performance levels. The
majority of students are in the average (yellow color coded) or above average
(green coded) level. The students that are having difficulties (red coded) are few in
number and very sporadic leading me to believe a majority of them are due to not
grasping the concept we may be learning or simply having a bad day. The students
that were having a difficult time in the beginning seem to be improving from the
data shown. There are a few students that the data shows a level of average work in
the beginning that have now dropped to below the average, which I will beginning
to asses and figure out a plan to bring them back up to performing well.
