BENEFITS OF OILS
Apricot Kernel Oil
It is high in Vitamins A and B, which helps with healing and rejuvenating skin cells. It is very rich in gamma
linoleic acid and produces a small amount of free radical fighting anti-oxidants, as well as Vitamin E.
Extremely good in skin care preparations, for all skin types, especially premature aging skin, wrinkles,
sensitive, inflamed or dry skin
Coconut Oil
A natural derivative of Coconut oil, this oil is highly regarded by some Aroma therapists, and sometimes
used exclusively to treat certain skin conditions. This oil is included in select products as it is a valuable
aid because of its non- comedogenic, hypoallergenic nature. This ingredient has the highest
recommendations for Sensitive skin and has multiple studies for its benefits to alleviate skin conditions.
We find it a superb addition to our serums.
Pistachio Oil
Antioxidants and Nutrients
Pistachios are full of oleic acids and other monounsaturated fatty acids and antioxidants that help
prevent strokes and coronary artery disease. Regular consumption of pistachios has been linked to lower
blood levels of LDL, bad cholesterol, and elevated levels of HDL, good cholesterol. The nuts are rich in
carotenes and polyphenol antioxidant compounds that research suggests improve the body's immunity to
infection, disease and cancer.
Vitamins and Minerals
Around 23g of vitamin E is in 100g, a little over 3 ounces, of pistachio nuts. Vitamin E is necessary to
maintain the cells of skin and mucus membranes and protects against harmful oxygen-free radicals. The
nuts are full of B-complex vitamins including vitamin B-6, niacin, thiamin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid and
foliates. Heavy concentration of minerals such as calcium, magnesium, copper, iron, manganese,
potassium, selenium and zinc are also found in pistachios.
Walnut Oil
Skin Care Benefits
Walnut oil contains linoleic acid which is good for dry skin, including for eczema and dandruff problems. It
is non-comedogenic oil, meaning that is does not clog pore, so it is appropriate for use even on facial skin
and as massage oil.
Sleep Benefits
Walnut oil contains melatonin, a hormone that helps promote natural sleep cycles. In turn, regulating the
sleep cycle may reduce depression and enhance the immune system in some people.
Heart Disease Benefits
The omega-3 fatty acids in walnut oil help to reduce cholesterol levels and improve the function of blood
vessels. Lower cholesterol and healthy blood vessels reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. Walnut oil
should be consumed daily to reap its full benefit on heart health.
Other Benefits
Walnut oil contains illogic, Gallic and malic acids. All are antioxidants which have anti-inflammatory and
antiviral properties. The American Cancer Society reports that promising but inconclusive studies on cell
cultures have shown illogic acid to slow the growth of certain tumors in laboratory animals.
Grape seed Oil
This oil contains flavonoids, which can help inhibit allergic reactions, and may help with skin conditions
such as eczema and psoriasis. It is oil that is considered to be nonirritating, so it's less likely to cause skin
irritation or allergic reactions.
Antioxidants
Grape seed oil contains antioxidants that help protect the skin against damage from free radicals. This
may be why it can help you look younger for longer.
Anti-Aging
Grape seed oil protects collagen in the skin, and this is what keeps your skin firmer for longer. Collagen is
a structural protein, so you could think of it as "support" for your skin. This oil also may encourage the
production of elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin, which help keep the skin elastic and younger
looking.
