Year 4’s trip to Norwich castle
On Wednesday 6th January 2016 year 4 and year 2 went on a school
trip to Norwich castle. Before we went to the castle, we were all excited.
Egyptians
When we got there we had a guide called Jenni. We did a handling
session with some Egyptian objects such as a scarab beetle, animal
amulets and god/goddess amulets and some canopic jars that held
organs. Then we went to the Egyptian gallery where we saw two
mummies and a lot of jewellery, like rings and beaded necklaces.
Romans
We also did a roman handling session too. We held a poo stick, don’t
worry it was just a replica! In the Boudicca and the Roman gallery there
was a house made out of human poo but it didn’t smell. There was also a
chariot ride on the tele and we saw over one hundred Roman coins.
We also went in the Norfolk wild life gallery and some of the boys and
girls went in the natural history gallery. We had a fun time and we
learnt lots of things.
