THE PARISH FESTIVAL IS A FEW MONTHS AWAY: We
will need everyone’s support to make sure we have a successful
year (and a weekend of good weather would sure help too.) We
are in need of leaders for the following booths:
Split the Pot (Sunday)
Bars & Bells (Fri & Sun)
June 21, 2015
Big Nine (Fri/Sat/Sun)
Gag Wheel (Sat/Sun)
Shoot for the Stars (Sat/Sun) Ring Toss (Friday)
To lead a booth, you simply commit to coordinating the activity
within that booth for the night(s) of your choosing, including
working to recruit friends, family, neighbors, etc. to help staff the
booth. Getting your own volunteers is not required. We can help
you get volunteers!
The Bid & Buy booth at our festival is in need of a chairperson
to lead the effort. This is a major booth at the festival which
brings in 100% profit of what it sells. It would be ideal to get a
chairperson for this booth as soon as possible to allow time to
collect donated items for festival patrons to buy. Perhaps even
invite a friend to co-chair this booth with you. Do you have items
to donate to the Bid & Buy Booth? We appreciate your
donation items like Bengals tickets, show tickets, rounds of golf,
sports memorabilia, lawn/sports equipment, and vacation/hotel
stays are popular.
Please consider volunteering for these positions by contacting
the festival chair people, James Devanney at
james.devanney@gmail.com, (513) 324-9403 or Haidee and
Scott Schlegel hschlegel80@gmail.com or (513) 407-1812
Why wait until the last minute? Sign up to volunteer now and

appreciate our volunteers!
examples of attacks on religious liberty include state laws that
forbid the Church to offer charity and pastoral care to
undocumented immigrants. Regardless of anyone’s status, the
Church cannot hold back access to the sacraments or basic human
needs to any child of God. The Fortnight for Freedom is an
opportunity for people of all faiths to remember that we should
not confine our faith to just the worship space, but we have a
human right to bring it to the public square for the common good
of all who live in this land. To learn more and to access resources
for participation, please visit www.catholiccincinnati.org and

Resources menu.

Why a Fortnight for Freedom? From June 21 to July 4, the U.S.
Catholic bishops are once again recognizing a “Fortnight for
Freedom” to draw special attention to current threats to religious
liberty. One concrete example of this challenge is the mandate by
the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services for religious
institutions, such as universities, hospitals and charitable
organizations, to facilitate access to contraception, sterilization
and abortion-inducing drugs, which would be contrary to their
religious beliefs. It is an unprecedented action by the federal
government to define which religious institutions are “religious
enough” to merit protection of their religious liberty. Other
