Mouse Paint
Learning goal #1
Children will observe and demonstrate mixing primary colors (red,
yellow and blue) to make secondary colors (orange, green and
purple)
1. Leader will have red, blue and green colored water in clear
plastic cups
2. He/She will mix red and yellow in another cup to make
orange; yellow and blue to make green and red and blue to
make purple.
Part 2 (if time)
Children will color their own Mouse Paint books by mixing
primary water colors to make secondary colors on designated
pages.
Plastic cups, water, food coloring, children’s books, water paint
and paintbrushes will be provided.
