The predecessor of the Osijek Faculty of Economics was the Centre for
Economic Studies, which was founded in 1959 with the aim of assisting
students studying at the Zagreb Faculty of Economics. In 1960, the Centre
was transformed into the Junior College of Economics, and in 1961, the
Faculty of Economics was founded. In the beginning, the Faculty was a
member of the University of Zagreb, but since 1975 it has been a part of
the University of Osijek.
The Faculty has established successful collaboration with Croatian and
foreign faculties of economics and research institutions.
