PUMPKIN PATCH FESTIVAL…Sunday, October 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Bring all your family and friends and enjoy carnival games, rock walls, bounce houses,
tumble bus, obstacle course, bounce slide, mini golf course, crafters, over 100 raffle
prizes (grand prize Disneyland Park Hopper tickets for four), a pumpkin patch, silent
auction, bake sale, pie eating contest, photo booth and four different food trucks.
Something for everyone! You won’t want to miss it!
Raffle Tickets…Please be sure that you have your student turn in their tickets for
the Pumpkin Patch raffle to their teacher by Friday, October 9th. We wouldn’t want
anyone to miss their chance in winning a raffle prize
Bake Sale…Show off you baking techniques and donate your best Halloween baking
item to the festival. A bake sale flyer with details is in your child’s backpack. Items
can be dropped off here at the school next week. Thank you for your support !
October 5th thru October 9th... Conference Week. Students will be released
from school at 1:05p.m.all week. Be sure to check with your bus driver to
verify the time your student will be dropped off this week. If possible,
please have your child attend the conference with you so they can tell you
about their progress in school.
October 11th, Sunday... PUMPKIN PATCH FESTIVAL (see above details)
October 14th, Wednesday ... NO EARLY RELEASE! Your student will remain
in school until 3:15 p.m.
October 16th, Friday ... the 2nd graders will be going on the Nature Trail 1112 p.m.
October 18th, Sunday... Run for Education at Scheels Marina. If you would
still like your child to attend the race, call us in the office and we can give
you the information needed to sign up.
October 19th, Monday...PFA will be holding their first evening meeting at
6:00 p.m. here at the school in hopes to bring in more parents. Find out
what is planned for your child’s school for the year!
October 22nd Thursday...Our Kindergarten classes will be going to Ferrari
Farms Pumpkin Patch at 9:30 a.m.
October 22nd Thursday...The 4th grade class will hold a music program here
at the school at 2:30 p.m. Parents and family invited to come.
October 23rd, Friday... is a make-up picture day.
October 26, 27, 28, 29...Fall Break... NO SCHOOL
October 30th...Nevada Day... NO SCHOOL
****Parking Lot… The parking lot is reserved ONLY for the buses and handicap
parking during drop off and pick up times (8:45 to 9:15 and 2:50 to 3:20). The
buses are very large and it is unsafe to have our students and/or parents walking
in between the buses during these times. If you are dropping off or picking up your
student before or after school, please do so in the parking spaces out on the street in
front of the school. Once you drop off or pick up your student out front, there is a
walkway along the fence that is safe for everyone to use.
Verdi Community Library...Please continue to support the library by visiting during
public hours on Wednesday from 3-7pm and on Saturday from 10am-4pm.
Teaching Books Website...The Washoe County School District Library Services
Department has a subscription to the website TeachingBooks.net. Students can access
this website at home or at school by using the following username: washoeschools and
password: washoeschools. Students can watch "Meet-the-Author Movies" and listen to
"Meet-the-Author Book Readings" for their favorite authors and illustrators. Please use
this great resource.
