QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
SOLICITATION NO. 7006312; Trash Can Liners
The DFW Airport (Airport) Procurement Department provides a report on questions received from
potential bidders related to the above solicitation and the Airport’s answers in order to provide a fair
opportunity for all suppliers. The following Q&A’s include all questions properly submitted before the
deadline for questions. Please be advised that any answer herein will not constitute a change in the
bid requirements. Any change to the bid requirements will be presented in a Solicitation Addendum.
1. Will Labels on cases be required to have case weight, size, color, thickness manufacture, and
item#?
Per Specifications / Scope of Work section 6.2 “Contractor must clearly label the outer
shipping package with the purchase order number.”
2. On Page 16 of the pdf document, clause 2.6 states the following:
Warehouse/Storage Facilities: Bidder must own or have use of at least one local warehouse or
storage facility within a 75 miles radius of the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport. Bidders must submit
their warehouse/storage information on the appropriate Bid Response Form.
a. Is this a standard clause included in all packages, but not really necessary for this bid?
This clause is not a standard clause; the contractor must own or have use of at
least on local warehouse or storage facility within a 75 mile radius.
b. If we do not have storehouse facilities in the vicinity will we be excluded from
consideration if we submit a bid?
Yes, if the contractor does not own or have use of a facility in the 75 mile radius
they will not meet the specifications of the Bid.
3. In section Special Bidding Instructions and Requirements, 2, ADDITIONAL BIDDER
SUBMITTALS, 2.1
a. At least 2 samples of each product offered – is this 2 bags or 2 cases?
Prospective Bidder must submit 2 bags of each item on the Bid Pricing Form.
b. Custom bags have minimums from manufacturer. Would it be acceptable, on the
custom bag samples, to submit a bag in the correct size, a separate bag in the correct
color, and if necessary a separate bag in the correct thickness?
Yes this will be acceptable if a minimum is required.

4. In section Special Bidding Instructions and Requirements, 1.5.4, Escalation Rate Calculation:
Based on the current bidder’s pricing, the year’s previous volume will be used along with the
maximum percentages proposed by the bidder to evaluate bidder’s total bid with all potential
renewals, is that correct? Please can you show an example?.
Yes this is correct. There is an example on the Bid Pricing Form, line 21 of the Excel
document.
5. Manufactured brands specified in the price sheet are not necessarily the brands we have to
bid, other brands are allowed as long as they are equal to the specs and can perform the job,
correct?
The manufacture brands specified in the Bid Pricing Form is what the Airport currently
procures. Other brands are allowed as long as they are Brand Name or Equal. Please
refer to 8.8 of the General Bid Instructions and Requirements.
6. Are the specs on the price sheet supposed to be the same as the table in the section labeled
SPECIFICATIONS/SCOPE OF WORK, 3.2 PRODUCT SPECIFICATION, 3.2.7? Line 5 on
the price sheet specification a 17 micron bag and in the table the 5th line specs a 16 micron
bag. Should we use the description on the price sheet only?
Line 5 on the Bid Pricing Form should read 16 Micron in the description. Addendum #3
will be issued to correct this.
7. What do the letters EHS, HS, LS and MS mean in table 3.2.7?
Refer to Bid Pricing From for the complete description of their abbreviations, which
relate to the bag strength.
8. Line 10 on the price sheet, EXCLB1718 should be .350 mil instead of 1.35mil according to
manufacturer specifications, please confirm.
Line 10 on the Bid Pricing Form and Specifications/Scope of Work 3.2.7 item 1-45-0299
should read .35 Mil. Addendum #3 will be issued to correct this.
9. In line 11 of the price sheet are we being asked to give a percent markup would be on additional sizes
of trash liners? Is this percentage multiplied by the pre-printed $10,000.00 amount?
Yes
