Micaela Sawdey
In my writing experience, I’ve written speeches, narratives, and stories for
entertainment. This past year in high school, I took the speech class that they offer
once a year. In this class, I wrote three major speeches. I’ve written a special
occasion speech, an expository speech, and a persuasive speech. All of which
received close to perfect scores. The special occasion speech, I’d have to say was my
best work. I wrote about a subject that hits close to home, that I knew the most
about. I wrote this speech was one someone would give at a military boot camp
graduation. I’ve also written many narratives and made up stories as well.
My goals to advance my writing this summer include learning a better style
to write papers, improving my writing skills, and anything that Tom is willing to
teach me. I’m always open to new ideas, or ways to improve my work. After the
summer program is over, I want to be able to write without difficulty in my paper
styles, and different ways to write a story or paper.
