Informed Consent
What Students Want Out of Residential Life and Campus Events
I,
, hereby confirm that I am at least eighteen years of age and
am willing participant in the research being conducted by Student and Faculty Advisor for the
department and Manchester University.
The purpose of the study is to discover what students want out of residential life and
campus events. Focus groups will be used to identify these insights; using an open question
format. Participation time should last between thirty and fifty minutes. The groups will be audio
recorded and all files will be secured in the psychology department. All files will be destroyed at
the completion of the study. No names of participants will be used in the research, and there will
be no way to link a participant to the study.
I understand that I have the right to withdraw my participation, or ask questions, at any
time with no negative consequences. I am aware that there is no direct benefit to my
participation, and there are no risks greater than that of everyday life.
