Registration Instructions
1: School Registration with Estimated Numbers (February)
Space is limited. Schools are accepted based upon when we receive the School Registration.
As soon as your school has decided to participate and register with Estimated Numbers:
a) If necessary, please download an Electronic Version from http://mat.LR.edu/contest/
b) Complete the School Registration page of this form.
c) E-mail this form, as an attachment, to both
Doug.Burkholder@LR.edu & Dottie.Crafton@LR.edu
(If e-mailing is inconvenient, you may snail-mail your form so that we receive it by the due date.)
d) An acknowledgement will be e-mailed back to you upon receiving your form.

Each Student completes their own Student Registration form by going on-line at

3: Complete Registration (By March 11)
a) Teams: A team consists of 3 or 4 students. The team score is the average of the team
members’ scores. All participants also compete as individuals. Students may participate as
individuals without belonging to a team.
b) E-mail the Complete Registration with Participant Names by March 11.
c) Mail entry fees to Dottie Crafton at the address on page 2 by March 21.
These fees help cover the lunch, printing, and awards.
Lunch is provided for all students and for all sponsors.
d) If changes are necessary, e-mail a revised copy of the Registration Form by noon March 24.

The NC State Math Contest has merged Math 2 & Math 3 into a single Level 2 Contest.
While it is a single exam with the top 10% of the best students progressing to the finals, LR will
have math 2 students compete only against other math 2 students for awards at Lenoir-Rhyne.
The LR Math 2 Contest is open to all students, including middle school students, who are
enrolled or have been enrolled in Math 2 during the current academic year.

** To help minimize spelling errors, and to reduce teacher’s workload, each student will complete a
short form on-line at any time before the registration deadline. This information may be used to
identify students for possible LR scholarship opportunities based upon LR Math Contest
participation.
