g. Patriot Program (Deanna Smith and Jo-Anne Toepfer) – American-themed laser
light show kickoff
h. 2010-2011 Yearbooks (Susan Cohen)
i. Lego League (Salwa Khan)
i. Great start last week – 10 5th graders on a team; borrowed additional parts
for kids to work in pairs to build own robots
ii. Theme is “Food Factor” – robot will do missions based on food safety and
the kids will have a project that focuses on solving a problem related to
food contamination/spoiling etc.
iii. Entering competition this year (meet twice per week)
iv. Possibility of creating another team dependent upon budget and additional
coach
