Peter Cowley studied Engineering and Computer Science at Cambridge University, now lives
near Cambridge and owns/runs small businesses in technology and construction. Peter is
UK business angel of the year 2014/15. He is a Fellow in Entrepreneurship at the
Cambridge Judge Business School.
He has been an active angel investor for several years and is the Investment Director of the
Marshall of Cambridge, Martlet Corporate Angel division, and a board member of
Cambridge Angels. He has led many investment deals and is a non-executive director of
seven angel-backed technology start-ups.
Peter has spec-built several domestic houses and refurbished many others, including the
£1.7 million Cambridge Advice Centre. Peter has been voluntary chair, treasurer and trustee
of numerous charities for over a decade – the Citizens Advice service, a drug and alcohol
rehabilitation charity and a local private sixth form college.
Peter is a director of the Cambridge Computer Lab Ring and runs their mentoring service,
and is chair of the ideaSpace Accelerator’s supporters. He is a freeman of the City of London
and is on the advisory board of a Social Enterprise in criminal justice.
