Information
Registration
We will not be having in person registration. Two things need to occur:
1. You need to send an email to lincolngarrett49@gmail.com confirming your party will be there
Saturday morning. YOU HAVE to send an email even if there are no changes to your party.
2. You have to pay online at http://ci.uky.edu/UKDebate/OVcreditcards2015 OR bring a check
to the tabroom on Saturday December 5th before the end of round 2
The deadline for emailing confirmation is 8:00PM Friday December 4th.
Ballots, Pairings and Help
We will be using tabroom online balloting. Please log in and click start the round button to
indicate to the tab staff your debate has begun because we are using a lot of building on
Saturday.
A limited number of paper copies of the pairings will be available near the tab room, located
outside of room 334 in the Classroom Building.
If your debate is missing participants or judges 5 or so minutes past start time please email

Food
There will be a hospitality room for coaches and judges that provides breakfast each morning.
For all debaters, judges and coaches there will be snacks, water and coffee in the halls on the 3rd
floor of the Classroom Building.
Judging
Speaker point scale is 30 points with tenths, no ties
Judges must vote for one and only one team
Decisions must be rendered no later than two hours and thirty minutes from the posted start time
for the preliminary debates. For elimination debates decisions must be rendered two hours and
forty-five minutes after the start time.
All judges are obligated through the octofinal debate or one round after your finals team’s
elimination. If you must leave before fulfilling your judging commitment inform Andrea Reed or
Lincoln Garrett
Rooms
DO NOT unplug any technology in the classrooms.
Please help keep the rooms as clean as possible by disposing of trash and not overflowing the
cans.
Please do not move furniture from room to room.

Teaching Opportunities in China
Debate & Speech Program
ENREACH is seeking full-time speech and debate coaches to be based in middle/high schools in partnership with
Dipont Education Management Group and the ENREACH centers in different cities around China. The teacher may
be asked to teach in the evenings and on weekends, and the teaching hour will be no more than 26 periods per week,
amounting to no more than 40 working hours.
Responsibilities:

Teaching the debate/public speech course provided by ENREACH at designated partner schools and ENREACH
centers.

Assisting teachers at partner schools in recruiting and training students interested in speech and debate.

Organizing debate/speech clubs and conducting individual and group practices during and after the academic
day as well as on evenings and weekends.

Supervising and judging at local and national tournaments.

Training and supervising judges.

Preparation of research packets to be used by students in debate competitions.

Work collaboratively with other coaches in developing and refining debate/speech course curriculum and
general program development.
Qualifications:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree.

Previous experience with high school speech/debate.

2 years of classroom teaching experience or other related work experience.

Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with students, parents, fellow teachers and
school administrators.

Capable of cross-cultural communication.
Salary and Benefits:

ENREACH provides a competitive compensation package. Salary commensurate with experience.

ENREACH provides Generous housing allowance, overage baggage stipend not to exceed 3,000rmb and one
round-trip flight ticket per year.


Exit the hotel onto Mason Headley Road. At the stop light of Mason Headley and S. Broadway you want to go
straight. Mason Headley turns into Waller Ave.
In 1.5 miles turn left onto University Drive.
Drive straight about a half mile until you reach Hilltop Ave. and turn LEFT.
You will dead end with the parking structure being on your right.
From Campbell House to the Classroom Building
Exit the hotel and take a left onto S. Broadway Blvd.
Take a RIGHT onto Virginia Avenue
Take a LEFT onto S Limestone
Take a RIGHT onto Administration Drive (If you pass an Arby’s on the left you’ve gone too far)
Drive around and take a RIGHT onto Patterson Dr. CB is building by the Office Tower.

Drive down Patterson DR. and take a LEFT on Rose St.
Take a RIGHT on Avenue of Champions
Drive down about a mile and turn RIGHT onto Woodland Ave.
