Before your bachelor thesis submission and your diploma exam (before you
leave CUE, in case you are coming back again for the diploma exam later on):
You must take all exams at least two weeks before you can submit your bachelor thesis to
the Dean’s Office. Please remember, that if you don’t fulfill these requirements, your
diploma exam will be postpone and will take place later on (as for return ticket - plan your
stay wisely);

STUDENT’S EXAM BOOK
Indeks (Polish Student’s Exam Book) – Please collect your ‘indeks’ from contact person.
Remember that you are responsible for collecting signatures from all your professors to your
indeks The professors will give you their signatures up to 2 weeks from the exam date, so
please plan your exam wisely! Remember that you can submit your bachelor thesis to the
Dean’s Office after you have collected all your professors’ signatures! Please remember, that
if you don’t fulfill these requirements, your diploma exam will be postpone and will take
place later on (as for return ticket - plan your stay wisely). If you are not sure how to fill in
the indeks, please ask Polish students or your academic supervisor. You are responsible to
write the professor’s name, the course name, the number of contact hours of the course.
Professors are responsible only for giving signatures.
Important: International Programmes Office IPO/BPZ is willingly to help you with your
indeks. Contact person will help you to fill it out and can also help you to gather signatures.
If you ask her, she will do her best to collect the signatures for you;

COPY OF THE PAYMENTS
Fee of 100 PLN for diploma exam and your diploma in Polish and the translation into
English.
You can pay using bank order or using the machines (cash deposits) at the campus. Please
remember you have to use your student’s ID number at CUE while paying! You must submit
the copy of payment to the Dean’s Office prior to your diploma exam date, at the same time
when you will submit your bachelor thesis copies! Please be aware that your bachelor exam
would be canceled if you don’t provide the copy of payment.

5 DIPLOMA PHOTOS - size: 4.5cm x 6.5 cm (Polish diploma format, note that it is
a different format that for ID)
The cost of such photos in Poland: ca. 45-60 PLN depending on the photographic studio;

NON - ARREARAGE CERTIFICATE
You have to obtain the certificate from the accountancy department that you are not in
arrears with any payments! It is formal, you have to go and get a stamp (Main Building,
First Floor second floor, room nr 104).
Important: International Programmes Office IPO/BPZ is willingly to help you with that.
Please ask contact person for help prior to your thesis submission;

STATEMENT ABOUT PERSONAL DATA STORAGE BY THE CUE AFTER THE
GRADUATION
Before leaving CUE, you have to allow CUE to operate your personal data for your future
career tracking, as Polish universities are obligated by the Polish law to make surveys on the
career paths of the CUE graduates/alumni. The statement must be filled in. You can

THESIS SUBMISSION
When you have collected all the above mentioned items, you have to go to the Dean’s Office
to submit your thesis.
When submitting your bachelor thesis you must provide:
-
indeks (with all signatures, courses, professors’ name, grades, dates),
2 covered standard copies,
1 archive bounded copy,
4 diploma photos,
copy of payment (100 PLN),
(non-arrearage certificate – it can be submitted by IPO/BPZ instead of you),
student’s ID (it should be returned, because you are no longer a student),
personal data storage statement
The person responsible for English-speaking students is: Ms. Renata Wojciechowska (Main
Building, ground floor, room nr 015C, phone +48 12 293 5458). The Dean’s Office is open
for students:
Mondays: 11.00 – 14.00
Tuesdays: 11.00 – 14.00
Wednesdays: closed
Thursdays: 11.00 – 14.00
Fridays: 11.00 – 14.00 and 15.00 – 17.00
Saturdays: 8.00 – 12.00
The Dean’s Office indicate the date of your bachelor defense and your bachelor oral exam
not earlier than 14 days after your submission!
Notice: In the Summer Semester 2011/2012 (February – September 2012) Ms. Renata
Wojciechowska will be away from the university, so the new staff would take care of
international students. Please ask IPO/BZP for details concerning the name of the
administration officer, but be aware that the contact information would be the same;

REVIEWER
After you register your bachelor thesis in the Dean’s Office, you will get 2 standard copies
and you are responsibly for delivering them to:

your thesis scientific supervisor,
your thesis reviewer
BACHELOR EXAM
You will be informed by the Dean’s Office or by your thesis scientific supervisor about the
date of your defense and your final bachelor exam. The exam will take place in front of the
Diploma State Commission, in which there are at least 3 professors:

the dean or one of the associate deans – the president of the commission,
your thesis scientific supervisor – the main examiner,
your reviewer – the supporting examiner
During the defense and exam you will be given 3 questions:


one question from all major courses in international economics (the courses
indicated in the learning agreement). The list of the possible questions will be
provided earlier in order to let you be well prepared to the answers,
two questions on your bachelor thesis - at first you will have ca. 5-8 minutes to
prepare yourself for answering. You will be provided with some paper, but you
can not use any external sources, even you can’t use your own bachelor thesis
during the exam! Then you will be asked to answer the questions. Afterwards the
Commission will ask you to wait outside the examination room. After the grading
debate you will be asked in for the final announcement.
FINAL GRADE
The final grade on your diploma is the combination/accumulation of three items:
-
60% - the average of all your grades obtained in the CUE, and the ‘core’ courses
indicated in your learning agreement and taken at GVSU and/or at UD,
20% - the average of the two thesis grades (evaluations made by your academic
scientific supervisor and by your reviewer),
20% - the average of the grades for 3 questions you will be asked and answered
during the bachelor exam
Note: Please remember that only last year students can take the bachelor exam. If not you
will have to come again to Krakow (CUE) only for bachelor defense and bachelor exam. You
can ask your CUE academic advisor for details in your case.
