Library
Well done to all the children who participated in Ennis Library’s Reading
Challenge during the summer. Libraries are a wonderful and cheap resource and
I would encourage all children to join their local library and establish a life long
love of reading.

Book Rental
There was a very positive response to our book rental scheme again this year.
Children are reminded to treat the books with care throughout the year.
Parking
The safety of the children arriving & departing the school grounds is of utmost
importance. The areas in front of the school are drop off/pick up areas and cars
should not be parked in these areas. People may park at the playground/pitch. It
is extremely important that the bus parking area is accessible.
NEWB
The National Educational Welfare Board requires that a written note be
submitted to the class teacher following a child’s absence from school. We
appreciate your co-operation in this matter.
Tracksuits
Measuring and ordering of tracksuits will take place in the G.P. hall in the school
on a later date.
Appointments
Strong links between home & school help to ensure that each child reaches
his/her potential. Parent teacher meetings will be held for Senior Infants –Rang
VI in November. Meetings for the Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of Junior Infants will
be held in October to advise on how best we can work together in your child’s
first year in primary school. Please make appointment with your child’s teacher
if you wish to discuss any concern/issue you may have.
Headlice
Headlice is part of school life from time to time, so Parent(s)/Guardian(s)
should not feel embarrassed if their child has headlice. It is imperative that
Parent(s)/Guardian(s) inform the class teacher/principal immediately so a note
can be distributed. Please check your child’s hair for headlice on a weekly basis.

Sport
We deeply appreciate the involvement of parents in helping to coach the
children in our school in a variety of sports. Ms. Denise Quinlan will send out
details next week of sports activities in the school. If you are interested in
assisting with coaching please let Denise Know.
Websites
May I recommend two websites which provide a wealth of information and ideas
on how parents may help their child’s education www.helpmykidlearn.ie
www.ncca.ie (parent section)
Photocopying /Art/Insurance Money
We understand that September can be an expensive time for families as we
return to school. Therefore we will not collect the above fees until October.
Any family who may have difficulty with payment should speak with me in
complete confidence.
