PINEWOOD ACRES HORSE SHOW
Start Time- 8:00 AM SHARP
Ring open for schooling prior to start time
LEADLINE- Open to junior riders seven (7) years of
age and under. English attire must be worn. Judged
on suitability of mount and presentation. Riders may
be asked to trot, incorrect diagonals not to count.
Riders may cross into Model Pony and Model
Hunter.

MINI STIRRUP- Open to riders ten (10) years of age
and under. This is a walk/trot division only.
Riders may only cross enter into other walk/trot
divisions. Points are on the rider.

5. Mini Stirrup Hunter U/S W/T
SHORT STIRRUP- Open to riders twelve (12) years
and under. This is an equitation division. Riders in
this division may only cross enter into Beginner
Hunter, Basic Hunter, Children’s Pleasure, Dressage
or eligible Western. No more than (10) may canter at
a time. Trotting over fences will be penalized. Fences
not to exceed 2’.

LONG STIRRUP – Open to riders thirteen (13) years
of age and over including adult amateurs. This is
an equitation division. Riders in this division may
only cross enter into Beginner Hunter, Basic
Hunter, Children’s Pleasure, Dressage or eligible
Western. Adult amateurs may cross enter into
Open Pleasure Division. No more than ten (10)
may canter at one time. Trotting over fences will
be penalized. Fences not to exceed 2’.

BASIC HUNTER- Open to any rider, any horse, any
pony, except those in Mini Stirrup and Lead Line. No
other restrictions apply. Points are on the
horse/pony. Trotting over cross rails will be
penalized. Cross rails will not exceed 2’.

CHILDREN”S PLEASURE – Open to horses and ponies
ridden by a junior rider to be judged on suitability,
manners, and performance. Open to all junior riders
regardless of fence heights in other division because
this class does not jump a course.

17. Hunter Hack (2 fences at 2’3” – may limit
jumping to top 8)
OPEN PLEASURE – Open to horses and ponies to be
judged on suitability, manners, and performance.
May be asked to hand gallop at the discretion of the
judge with no more than eight (8) to hand gallop at
one time. Beginner Hunter may cross over into this
division. Must show the entire division to be eligible
to show in the stake.

20. OPEN ENGLISH PLEASURE STAKE**

BEGINNER HUNTER This class is a 2’ hunter division
for Beginner Riders. This hunter division is for riders
who are in their first or second year of showing
over a course of fence. Riders may only cross enter
into Basic Hunter, Short Stirrup, Long Stirrup and
Pleasure Divisions (if eligible). The following
obstacles are prohibited: in‐and‐out, combinations,
oxers, or cross rails. No more than ten (10) to canter
at a time. Trotting corners will not be penalized.

STARTING HUNTER HORSE OR PONY- Open to
horses and ponies in their first year of showing over
fences. Fences not to exceed 2’. Trotting will not be
penalized. Beginner Hunter Division may not cross
over into this division. Starting Hunter Horse or
Ponies may cross over into Green Hunters, Basic
Hunter and Pleasure Division (if eligible). Horses or
ponies may only show in this division for one year.

GREEN HUNTER – Open to horses and ponies in
their first or second year of showing over fences
with exception of Short or Long Stirrup. This division
may have oxers. Green Hunters may cross enter into

if eligible or a division where the fences do not
exceed 2’3”. Adults may ride ponies.

***Sm/Med ponies will have schooling time at end
of schooling break. Sm/Med ponies in Children’s
Hunter & Eq will jump on an open card immediately
following the schooling break.**
Children’s Equitation‐ Open to junior riders. Course
must consist of at least six (6) obstacles. A change of
lead is required. Judges may choose from USEF
Test#1‐12 Small/medium ponies to jump 2’. Large
ponies and horses to jump 2’6”.

CHILDREN’S HUNTER HORSE/ PONY- Open to
horses, and ponies 14.2h and under ridden by a
junior rider only. This division must not have an
in‐and‐out. Small/medium ponies to jump 2’.
Large ponies and horses to jump 2’6”. Show
management has the right to split if entries
warrant.

SCHOOLING HUNTER- Open to horses and ponies.
Fences not to exceed 2’6”. Adults may ride ponies.

45. NPHA 2'6" Medal- This class will be run at
show managers discretion. This medal will only
consist of one (1) jumping round. This class shall
be open to any rider, any age, to be judged on
equitation. Points will be on the rider. Only 1
horse and rider combo during each event however
rider may change horses at different shows as
long as the horse is registered.
46. NPHA 2'6 Handy Hunter Class- Open to all
eligible horses, ponies, and riders, except for those
in Starting Hunter, Green, or Modified Adult
Equitation. Course should vary from the normal
hunter class routine to include elements that show
rideablility and handiness. Ex: turn back, trot
fences, option lines.
**All Stake Classes will be paid as a
percentage: 20% - 15% - 10% -and 5%. If there
are six (6) or less entries, only 1st place will pay
back 20% of the total entries for the Stake
Class. The entire division must be entered to
be eligible for the stake class.**

$15 per class
$18 per stake class
*Stalls are available at $25. Stalls must be
cleaned prior to leaving the grounds or you
will be billed an additional $25 per stall*

The show ring is 200’ x 270’ enclosed by
vinyl fencing with sand footing. The warm
up area is sand footing.
RULES
 A current Negative Coggins is
required at the Secretary’s stand or
must be on the Master Coggins List.
 Dallas Equine Center, LLC d/b/a
Pinewood Acres, the Show
Committee, Soaring Saddles 4-H
Club, the volunteers, Luzerne
County Fairgrounds and/or NPHA
will not be responsible for any loss
or injury to any person, horse, or
property incurred on any of the
show grounds.
 Riders must wear an SEI-approved
helmet while mounted on a horse
anywhere on the grounds.






The show committee reserves the
right to make any adjustments
necessary to make the show run in a
timely manner.
All ponies showing in Model and
Children’s Hunter/Eq must be
measured by the NPHA Steward or
hold a permanent NPHA or USEF
measurement card.
All dogs must be leashed.
All Equine activities are pursuant to
PA Equine Law Act 93 of 2005.
No exhibitors, trainers nor
spectators will be permitted to
speak directly to judge without
making arrangements with the
steward.
Unless otherwise stated, all NPHA
rules will be followed as per the
2014 NPHA rule book. A copy of the
2014 rulebook will be available at
the secretary’s stand for reference
purposes.
DIRECTIONS
From I-81 N or S; Take exit for RT 309N for
approx. 10 miles; Take RT 415N for approx.
3 miles; Make left turn on to RT 118W; Go ¼
mile to Left turn for GATE B of fairgrounds
on to Yalick Rd. Entrance to show on right.
