Key Responsibilities: Facilitate all training and fitness sessions during the pre-season and playing season. Attend all practice matches, scheduled trainings and games at times and venues as fixtured by Hockey Geelong and Hockey Victoria. To represent Hockey Geelong in a professional manner at all times through leadership and by example. Coaching Objectives: Create opportunities for players to improve, both in technical playing skills as well as tactical thinking and game development application. Work with other Senior Team coaches in developing structured and competitive squads. Oversee and help implement quality training drills. Develop self as coach – through Hockey Australia Hockey Ed coaching development programme. To facilitate Hockey Geelong’s aim of attaining Vic Premier League for both Men and Women 2017 – 2020. Key Selection Criteria: A recognized qualification in hockey coaching to a minimum or equivalent to Level 2 (Development Coach) under Hockey Ed programme. Ability to work with and support players in further developing their skills and commitment to hockey. Track record of coaching experience, including a proven training/match philosophy (to be provided with application). Excellent communication skills - ability to work with players, support staff and Hockey Geelong Executive members. Ability to work as a team member of the Hockey Geelong Senior Representative management teams. A knowledge of and commitment to upholding the Hockey Geelong Mission Statement. A minimum of Level 1 First Aid qualification will be highly regarded. A current Working With Children check is required for all applicants. page 2 Organisational Relationships: Responsible for: Coaching, training and conduct of senior squad members. Liaises directly with: Team Manager, Hockey Geelong Senior Representative Coordinator, Senior Head Coach. Reports To: Hockey Geelong Senior Representative Coordinator (weekly or more frequently as required) and the Hockey Geelong Management Committee (written monthly report required) Remuneration: Remuneration for the above Coaching positions will be negotiated with successful applicants. Term of Position: The above position is expected to cover the period November 30, 2015 to September 30, 2016. Extensions to the above may be negotiated at time of interview. SENIOR HEAD COACH POSITION - ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Hockey Geelong's Senior Head Coach was responsible for ensuring a high standard of coaching across the 5 Senior teams competing in the 2015 Hockey Victoria competition. In addition, the Head Coach is required to provide leadership, support and direction of the Senior coaching staff in all areas of delivery. Key Responsibilities: Create opportunities for coaches to improve, both in technical skills as well as tactical thinking and game development application. Attend the various Senior Teams' trainings and games; ensuring time is spent with each team's coaching unit. Facilitate where deemed necessary, "Coach the Coaches" sessions during the season. Organisational Relationships: Responsible for: overseeing training and conduct of Senior squad Team Coaches. Liaises directly with: Hockey Geelong Senior Team Head Coaches, Team Assistant Coaches, or Team Co-Coaches where applicable; Team Managers. Reports to: Hockey Geelong Senior Co-ordinator (weekly or more frequently as required); Hockey Geelong Management Committee (written monthly report required).
