THE LEARNING CENTER PROFESSIONAL (TLCP)
BASIC FUNCTION
To promote and foster learning and teaching services through the Learning Center by working in conjunction with the
Coordinator of Academic Services to provide additional academic support to students;
and provide welcoming assistance in a variety of subject areas from basic computer, English and math skills, to library
and research help .
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential skills, knowledge, and abilities for this position include:







organizational skills and the ability to multitask;
the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
training and management experience;
strong technology and technology trouble-shooting skills;
skill and comfort working with individuals of diverse populations and different abilities;
the capacity to track data as formally required;
the ability to provide leadership, motivation and inspiration to a diverse student support team and the students it
serves; and
excellent critical thinking, writing and verbal communication and basic math skills.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Supervision is exercised over the Learning Center operations and additional center staff.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Supervision is received from the Coordinator of Academic Services and the Regional Director
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree or Bachelor's degree with relevant experience, and teaching or tutoring experience
(preferably in higher education) are required.
