Absent: Donna Tung (Vice-president), Jane Luke, Sharon Meyer, Nancy Seabury, Sylvia Carney, and Irene
Hopper.
Sarah Groleau called the meeting to order at 10:09 AM. Attendees introduced themselves.
The minutes from the November 2, 2013 Board meeting were reviewed. One correction was noted:
“Groleau” was misspelled on page two, paragraph four. With that correction, the minutes were
approved unanimously.
Anne Cunningham presented the Treasurer’s Report. It was approved unanimously. Anne also reported
that Claire Tracy would serve as our new Book Sale coordinator. While the summer bake sale, annual
appeal, and book sales are all still pending, the Friends were already 1/3 of the way to meeting their
fundraising goals for 2014.
Elizabeth Rhymer presented her Librarian’s Report which will also be posted on line. People were
encouraged to “like” the Freedom Library on Facebook. She announced information about the summer
reading program. She also requested help with collecting prize donations for the summer reading
program. Donors must supply a name and address for thank you letters.
Anne Pierce, newly elected President of the Trustees, presented the Trustees’ Report. Currently the
Trustees are seeking someone to serve in the position of Alternate. She told people to watch for news
of an upcoming project. She thanked the Friends for their support of the library, and she reminded
everyone that in 2017 the Friends would celebrate 125 years of service. It was suggested that a history
of the Friends might be compiled for this anniversary.
