HFHA’s vision is a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. HFHA operates as
part of an international network with a common objective of reducing poverty and eliminating
substandard housing and homelessness from the world. Specifically, HFHA’s objective is to ensure
that enhanced shelter security through access to land tenure and safe, decent, affordable housing
is incorporated within a broader program of community development which addresses a
comprehensive set of development objectives.
The Global Village (GV) department is the volunteering arm of Habitat for Humanity. We offer
members of the public opportunities to build homes as part of Habitat for Humanity projects
throughout the Asia Pacific region. The GV team oversees end-to-end delivery of teams. Working
with our international partners, we are responsible for: recruiting and managing volunteers,
finding and booking build locations, designing engaging and exciting travel itineraries, devising
budgets and ensuring volunteers have a safe and worthwhile experience.
Global Village Intern:
The Global Village Team are expanding their social media presence and need a tech savvy intern
to assist in strategy development and implementation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role will require the intern to work with the Global Village team and the Habitat marketing
department to:

Develop a Social Media plan designed to engage past and potential Global Village
volunteers across various social media platforms
Set up Facebook events for each build team, including inviting relevant participants
and content design
Develop content across various Habitat social media platforms

has an empathy with the Christian ethos and values of Habitat for Humanity.
Strong social media skills, preferably with tertiary qualification in
Marketing/PR/Communication
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Experience using Hootesuite, Facebook Insights and Google Analytics beneficial
Experience using WordPress beneficial
Travel experience is an added bonus!
COMPENSATION:
The intern shall be reimbursed for associated travel expenses – upon receipt, in addition to
receiving up to $10 as a lunch allowance (receipts needed).
