HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING WEEK FESTIVITIES
Daily Dress days
Spirit Week:
 Sports Jersey day-Monday (jeans and team jersey)
 Tacky day-Tuesday
 Animal day-Wednesday
 ISCHS Pride day-Thursday (school colors and shirts)
 Character/Cartoon day-Friday
Dress Rules:
 Every student must either fully wear a costume or the school uniform.
 No shorts or skirts.
 There will be a fine of $5.00 for those students out of costume.
Class Competitions – There will be five class competitions with the classes vying for the Spirit Trophy. Points for
each will be:
 100 for first place in each event
 70 for second place in each event
 40 for third place in each event
 10 for fourth place in each event
The events are as follows:
 Dress Days (see above) – 3 teachers will judge each day and the points totaled to determine winning class.
 Penny Wars – See reverse. (Jars will be brought down daily during lunch).
 Bulletin Board Contest
o Each class in high school will update and/or decorate their two class bulletin boards to show the
classes’ creativity and spirit. Deadline is November 30th to complete the bulletin boards.
o The boards will be judged by three teachers/staff (TBA).
o The winners will be announced on December 3rd.
 Banner Contest
o All the classes must make a banner to represent their club and show school.
o The banner theme is “Shoot for the Stars”.
o Banners should be turned in no later than noon, December 1, 2010, to Bianca Chavez, Coach Mitat,
or Coach Hermansen.
o Banners must be 4 feet wide by 8 feet long.
o Judged by three teachers (TBA).
o Banner winners will be announced at the homecoming soccer game that afternoon.
 Homecoming participation at games
o Attendance will be taken at the homecoming basketball game and homecoming soccer game listed
below. Points are earned for the class percentage representation (minus the players).
Homecoming Games Information – Field trip forms due no later than Wednesday
 Thursday, December 2nd - There will be homecoming soccer game at Tropical Park. This is our annual
barbeque picnic and music. The cost is $7.00 for the meal (hot dog or hamburger, chips, cookie, and soda)
and $10.00 if you would like to also ride the bus. Field Trip forms can be picked up on Monday.
 Friday, December 3rd– There will be basketball game of all teams versus the faculty at Jose Marti Park at
4:00 p.m. The cost is $3.00. Come watch the faculty wish they were young again.
Homecoming Dance
There will be semi-formal homecoming dance on Saturday, December 4th, from 8:00 – 12:00 p.m. at the Illusions
Banquet Hall. (Maps will be available on Monday.) Ticket cost is $30.00 and is due no later than Tuesday,
November 30th to Coach. A buffet dinner is included. The King and Queen and their court will be announced at the
dance. Nominations will be accepted on Monday and the final voting of the top five nominees for each grade will be
on Wednesday.
