EVENTS DETAILS AND GENERAL GUIDLELINES
1. Model Making Competition:
a. The classes allowed for the competition and the theme for this competition is:
i. Class 5th to 8th
: “Discovery”
b. A model can be made by a single student or a group not more than 3 students.
c. One and Only one entry per category is allowed from each institution / school.
d. The models will be made by the students at their institutions/schools and will be brought to
display on the competition day.
e. Model can be built using any medium i.e. paper, plastic, thermo pore, metal etc.
f. Model must clearly depict the theme as stated for each category.
g. All models will be put on display by schools on the competition day’s i.e 10 and 11 October
2015 during Space Fair at Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park and best 3 will be selected by the jury
members for each category.
2. Quiz Competition:
a. One team, comprising of two students only, can participate from each school for this
competition
b. Questions will be Space Related. Material will be available on SUPARCO website for
preparation for quiz competition.
c. Timings 0900 Hrs onwards dated 06 Oct 2015 at SRDC, Lahore.
3. Declamation Competition:
For Schools:
a. The competition will be bilingual i.e. in Urdu and English languages for class 8th to
10th /
O-levels. The theme is:
English
{Discovery} --
b. One team, comprising of at the most two students: one student for each category in
each language, can participate from each school for this competition.
c. Time allowed for the speech will be 3 minutes, after which the first bell will ring.
Another 30 seconds will be allowed to the speaker to wind-up the speech. After 3.30
minutes a mark will be deducted for every 10 seconds.
d. Timings 0900 Hrs Onwards dated 07 Oct 2015 at SRDC Lahore.

Rules:
Time allowed for a speech is 4 minutes.
Evaluation will be made on presentation, conduct, language and content of
speech. Inappropriate or slang language, or offensive remarks against any
political party/sect etc. shall be not tolerated.
Two student(s) / teacher(s) are allowed to accompany the participant for
attending the event.

4. Sky Simulation Shows:
a. Sky Simulation shows, at PIA planetarium, are arranged for students up to class 8th. The
activity will be held during the space week. A school may bring 15 students for the program
along with 2 teachers.
b. To confirm other details check the relevant box in the registration form. Details will be
coordinated to the registered schools.
c. Refreshments will be given by SUPARCO.
d. Timings 0900 Hrs to 1500 Hrs Dated 08 Oct 2015 at PIA Planetarium, Lahore
5. Mobile Lecture and Movie Team:
a. Interesting movies about space technology as well as informative lectures will be delivered by
SUPARCO officials in schools. Lectures will be especially beneficial for students of high school
and teachers alike.
b. To register for this activity and the lecture delivered at your school, check the relevant box in
the registration form. Details regarding date and time will be coordinated to the registered
schools. SUPARCO will bring its own multimedia and sound system. The only requirement is a
hall or a spacious class room with electricity.
6. Space Fancy Dress Show:
a. We encourage active participation of kids from KG to Class 3 in Space Fancy Dress Show, to be
held during Space Fair of World Space Week.
b. The kids may dress up as astronauts, aliens, space scientists, any characters from cartoons /
movies or any other costumes related to space.
c. A school can bring up to 5 kids for the fancy dress show.
d. Timings : During Space Fair on 10 & 11 Oct 2015 from 1100 Hrs Onwards at Gulshan-
e-Iqbal Park, Lahore.
7. Water Rocket Competition:
a. The Water Rocket Competition will be held on the second day of the World Space Week Family
Fair.
The competition will involve everything from the design and making of rocket to launching of
the rocket.
b. Further details will be communicated to the nominated teachers from each participating school.
c. Timings : During Space Fair on 10 & 11 Oct 2015 from 0900 Hrs Onwards at Gulshan-eIqbal Park, Lahore (Demonstration & Competition)
8. Space In Quran:
a. One team, comprising of at the most two students will be allowed form each
school from class 5th to 10th.
b. Portion from Quran (5 to 6 aayat) will be selected by the students related to
space, stars and galaxies etc with short explanation.
c. Jury will decide the best among the participant s. The decision of jury will be final
and cannot be challenged.
d. Timings 0900 Hrs Onwards Dated 09 Oct 2015 at SRDC Lahore
9. Paper Plane Competition:
a. 03x students from form all participating school available at Gulshane-e-Iqbal
park will be allowed to participate.
b. Students should be in school uniform wearing school card. SUPARCO will
provide papers.
c. Jury will decide the best among the participants. The decision of jury will be final
and cannot be challenged.
d. Timings : During Space Fair on 10 & 11 Oct 2015 at Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park,
Lahore (Demonstration & Competition)
10. Astronomy Night & Sky Gazing:
a. Astronomy Night & Sky Gazing is a part of WSW 2015 activity and is planned to
invoke the interest of students in the space and celestial objects. “Astronomy
Night & Sky Gazing” show is planned for school students from class 1 to class 8.
b. 15 to 20 students from each school are invited.
c. Timings 1700 Hrs Onwards dated 8th Oct 2015 at SRDC Lahore.
11. Space Walk:
a. SUPARCO officials Families, participating schools, universities and general public will join
this walk during Space Fair at Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park.
12. Space Fair:
a. Space Fair will be held on 10 and 11 October 2015 at Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park. 02
days full of activities fun and fantasies, Model display, Universities Projects
Display, SUPARCO Stall, water rocket competition/demonstrations, space walk,
paper plan competition space studio and many more with full media coverage.
