Notes for the beginning of the year:
Mission Statement: All students at CRMS will learn and achieve at high levels
Hello Staff. Welcome back.
Because we cannot review and cover everything we need to at workshop, here are some
reminders and helpful documents so that we start the school year moving in the same
direction.
1) Duty Day: The duty day is from 7:50 – 3:30
2) Student Schedules: You will be given a new copy of student schedules run by 1st
hour classes. Please give your students this new schedule 1st hour. These will be
located in your mailboxes to pick up on Tuesday before school. Students need to
use this most recent copy in case of any changes. It will be on colored paper –
most likely GREEN.
3) Good to Great: Please wear your Good to Great t-shirt on Wednesday for open
house, pictures on Thursday afternoon and the first day of school.
4) 6th Grade Dismissal: 6th graders will be released at 3:00 P.M. to find their buses
for the first week of school.
5) Announcements: Please play the Falcon Flash Announcements found on CRMS
YouTube page during 1st hour. The announcements will be switching back to a
live broadcast again this year and will begin shortly after the first hour begins.
Contact Ryan Green or Mitch Hanson if you do not have the shortcut on your
desktop for the announcements.
6) Parent Volunteers: We will have parent volunteers helping in the halls the first
few days with student lockers and getting students to classes. If you get a purple
volunteer form back, please turn into Barb Sabatke.
7) CORE:
a. Please pick up the CORE materials for the first week of school in the staff
lounge. Let the office know if you need additional items.
b. CORE leaders -Cindy Quist (6) Stephanie Killian (7) Michelle Powers (8)
will send out plans to teachers on Friday morning before the week of
delivery. Please get any CORE changes or additions to those leaders by
Wednesday morning.
c. In most cases students will be paired with one of their teachers that they
have during the day for CORE.
d. Tuesday and Thursday will be homework / Academic Intervention day.
Please take attendance promptly. At 2:46 the music will play over the
intercom. Students will have two minutes to pass to their teacher’s
classroom that they need additional help with. Students must have a pass
from that teacher they are working with signed on the back of their student
planner to go to that CORE.
8) Staff Meetings: Our first meeting will be on September 23rd from 7:30-8:10.
A reminder that Site Council decided to adjust the duty day during staff meeting
Wednesdays to 7:30-3:10. Assistant Principals will cover duties during our staff
meeting times. Staff meetings will be held the first Wednesday of each month.
9) Lock Down/Fire Drill: Please make sure you review the lockdown, fire drill, and
tornado building safety plans that are found in your red emergency binders, please
contact Joyce Cassady if you do not have a binder in your room. If you have any
questions or concerns about these policies, please ask Robert Cahow or Mark Dahl.
10) Attendance: Must be taken at the beginning of every hour! Correct attendance is
very important to make sure that the automatic phone calls are sent home. It is also
helpful when we are trying to locate a student.

If a student comes in late, the unverified needs to be changed at your earliest
opportunity. If attendance needs to be changed for a block class please send
Mary Protas an email so she can update attendance.
11) Bus Safety Week - Sept 14-18
 Materials will be given to CORE teachers by the end of the first week of
school.
 Similar format in previous years with reviewing the PowerPoint and students
taking the test.

having all students complete the bus safety test and pass with at least 70%
(21/30 correct).

online every two weeks on payday Friday. See Tom Shaw if you have any
