Training Seminar Application
The Winter 2016 Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Facilitators Training
Seminar is an opportunity for EMU faculty and lecturers to (re)gain expertise in SoTL and in
training others to implement SoTL projects. The expectation is that those who complete the
Facilitators Seminar will oversee small SoTL groups of faculty and lecturers interested in similar
teaching strategies/techniques during the following academic year (2016/2017). All tenuretrack/tenure faculty, Full-Time Lecturer B, and Part-Time Lecturer B are eligible to apply. This
seminar will meet every two-three weeks on Friday mornings to discuss readings, practice
facilitation techniques, and report on the progress on their own SoTL projects. A $300
honorarium is available to those who successfully complete all seminar requirements (e.g.
action plan for a substantial SoTL project, and mastery of facilitation skills).
