This program highlights the dynamics that affect the performance efficiency of every dental clinician. The
central theme of this seminar is ergonomic assessment and early intervention. Every clinician should establish a
process of self-evaluation which guides them in improving their operatory design, instrument selections,
sharpening and adaptation of advanced fulcrums to avoid long term injuries.

Motivational interviewing is now recognized in healthcare as becoming the best practice in “guiding” our
patients in making positive changes for their health. Our patients will only make positive changes if they can
justify the value in improving their overall health and lifespan. Lil will walk the audience through the key
principles that underscore the process of using motivational interviewing techniques for our workplace.

Lillian Caperila is a resident and licensed dental hygienist in Pennsylvania and has practiced for over 25 years in
the periodontal practice of Dr. Joel S. Jaspan in Plymouth Meeting, PA. Lil’s education includes her certificate in
dental hygiene from Montgomery County Community College, a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene education
from Thomas Jefferson University and master’s degree in education from Penn State University. Her extensive
experience as a speaker and periodontal clinical therapist has honed her skills in providing key recommendations
in ergonomic and periodontal instrumentation.
