a. The Turtle Bayou Resolutions were an attempt by the Texans to show their support for mexico, they
states that they supported Santa Anna but not the government.
Why did Austin travel to Mexico City?
a. Austin traveled to Mexico City to present the resolutions of the Convention of 1833.
Why did many Anglo Americans move to Texas in the 1820s?
a. Anglo Americans moved to Texas for cheap land.
Explain the Mier y Teran Report. What did Mier urge the Mexican government to do?
a. The Mier y Teran report suggested that Mexico station soldiers in Texas, encourage trade between
Mexico and Texas, and encourage Mexican and European settlement of Texas.

a. Austin stayed in Mexico City to wait for the final decision on his case.

a. The Law of April 6th, 1830 was a way for Mexico to control what was happening in TX; examples: no
importation of slaves, tariff was placed on imports, Texan land could be given to Mexicans.
Why did Bradburn arrest Travis and Jack (Anahuac)?
a. Travis and Jack were arrested b/c they were spreading false rumors that an armed force from Louisiana
was heading to Anahuac.
What was the Fredonian Rebellion and how did Austin respond to it?
a. The Fredonian Rebellion was the first attempt of Texans rebelling against Mexico and they tried to make
Natchitoches independent. Austin responded by supporting the Mexican government and helping to
put down the revolt.
