I.M.PA.C.T. COURSE DESCRIPTION
FALL 2015
The goal of the I.M.P.A.C.T program is to assist you with one of the most difficult roles
life has to offer – being a parent. The classes, workshops and support groups are
designed to increase your skills and strengthen you. In the parent support groups you will
meet and be encouraged by parents who are experiencing similar situations. As well as, a
team of professionals who are there to help you succeed. In addition, the program
includes some of the following incentives:



Upon completion of each class, you will receive a certificate of completion.
PARENTING CLASSES
Common Sense Parenting - 12 week course
The goal of the Common Sense Parenting® Program is to teach you to develop stronger
relationships with your children and prevent many of the behavioral problems that lead to
difficulties at home and school.
This course is also offered in Spanish
Anger Management - 12 Week Course
The goal of this course is to help you understand how and why anger can control your
life. It offers ways in which you can reduce and redirect stress and tension that results in
overtly aggressive behaviors. The course provides you with alternatives to violent
outbursts and abusive behavior the purpose of this course is to assist you in managing
your levels of anger and stress.
This course is also offered in Spanish
Responsible Fatherhood – 12 Week Course
The goal of this course is to help fathers increase the role they play in the lives of their children.
It recognizes the tremendous positive impact that fathers have on a child’s development when his
paternal role of emotional and physical care is being fulfilled. The Developing Fathers curriculum
addressed the needs of fathers in the areas of values, manhood, self-sufficiency, life skills,
discrimination, fatherhood, child development, single fatherhood, childcare, education,
employment, conflict resolution, healthy relationships, communication, health, sexuality, alcohol
& drugs, as well as money management.
PARENTING SUPPORT GROUPS
Origins
The goal of the Origins Family Support Group is to help parents deal with the ever increasing
difficulties that parents face in parenting children in our modern world. Origins is designed for
parents to acquire skills and parenting mindset that will create and foster an environment in the
home that nurture a healthy atmosphere to build a strong family.
Effective Fathering Support Group
The goal of the Fatherhood Support Group is to help fathers deal with the challenges of being the
male parent. The group is designed to help fathers understand the importance of the role they play
in the lives of their children and the family as a whole.
PARENT WORKSHOPS
Monthly, the I.M.P.A.C.T. Program sponsors a parenting workshop that tackles a myriad of
topics to help parents and build families.
