Skilled and experienced with knowledge of .NET 4.5, MVC 5.1, SQL Server, cross-platform (including mobile development) technologies working on
various projects from Freelancer.com and building a new CMS for social/professional networks www. intelligentbytes.com. See more here
http://tedbissell.wix.com/intelligentbytes. Open source HTML tools are being used to prototype ‘look and feel’ with an MVC5 framework for mobile
and desktop presentation and Microsoft Azure is being used for hosting website, data repositories, and web services. A host of other ‘usual suspects’
in JavaScript libraries are being integrated including jQuery.js, bootstrap.js, backbone.js; with node.js. Just completed a short-term assignment at
activePDF. Currently serving in a part-time consulting and coding role with a startup, Supply Chain Analytics. Technologies used in development of
the website include HTML5, CSS3, bootstrap.js, node.js, .NET, MVC5 and ASPX, AJAX, with SQL Server 2012 backend, Google Charts, and
Wordpress CMS.
Senior Developer CIBA Insurance Services Glendale, CA (Full-time perm)
2/2012 – 5/2013
Engaged in an integration project that included adoption of legacy Access enterprise application solutions to contemporary ‘browser-based’ SOA,
SQL Server 2008/2012, .NET 4.5, MVC 4, C# environment. AJAX and social network API, HTML5, jQuery, and CSS3 solutions developed for
presentation layer with speed, mobility and cross-browser compatibility of high priority for high-volume data transaction environment. Significant
work done for WCF web services with LINQ-to-SQL, hosted in IIS with Microsoft Entity Framework for hosting on Microsoft Azure. Duties included
top-level escalation on production application support for 3 major mission-critical applications.
Independent Senior Consultant
3/2011 – 12/2011
Short-term contracts with Time-Warner Cable, and StayHealthy creating solution structures and organization for new MVC framework projects in
the early summer. I then accepted contract-to-hire as member of a project team working on a new MVC digital media asset system for Sony
Pictures Entertainment at the end of August. However, due to budget cuts; Sony was unable to retain me for a permanent role. More recently, I
evaluated feasibility of an MVC solution for media rights sales and tracking system at FilmTrack. Coding work was done with .NET 4.0, MVC 3.0,
ASP.NET, and C# environments with SQL Server 2008, Oracle 10g, and Mongo back-ends. Code was written for custom http handlers and http
modules using WCF/JSON and Silverlight running in an MVC framework with CSS, jQuery, AJAX, HTML helpers, and Microsoft Web API
development for social network integration.
Senior Software Developer
Live Nation Entertainment Hollywood, CA (Full-time perm)
4/2008 -2/2011
Worked as a special projects team member on a system of components that represented a ‘back-office’ management system for the integration of
other ‘external’ ticketing systems; including House of Blues, Eventim, and those of Ticketmaster; with whom Live Nation merged. My role was as a
senior developer specifically assigned to the ‘Ticketing’ host of components which made up this system on a special projects team reporting to the
Senior Vice President-Business Systems-Global IT. Maintenance and new development were necessary duties, as were more administrative duties
in the initiation, prioritization, and tracking of issue reporting. Interaction and communications were a required feature of duties; not only with other
team members; but across several different technical teams and business levels, with a multitude of ethnic, cultural, and heritage backgrounds.
Security, personalized presentations, and the presentation of ecommerce transactional data in an ‘absorbable’ form, were all paramount in my
current daily duties. Tools used included C#, VS 2003 - 2012, SQL, jQuery, XML, CSS, HTML, and AJAX. Duties included 24/7/365 third-tier
production application support for mission-critical applications.
Independent Senior Consultant
3/1985 – 4/2008
Projects:
Contracted and consulted with a wide variety of clients and work in various industries on applications primarily of a financial/accounting nature for all
business levels ranging from ‘mom and pop’ shops to the largest most successful e-commerce companies on the internet today.
Hands-on coding has always been a primary feature of the projects I have worked on. Direct end-user interactions and full SDLC tasks including
after-release support have also been major aspects of the majority of projects I have been involved with. I have served in various roles including as
an exclusive single-source for business analysis, requirements definitions, systems analysis and specification, and application development… a
team-member on large, complex systems for both desktop and internet distributions…and in roles that were project management and leadership in
software application development.
My best work has come as a result of my abilities to understand and grasp the newest technologies quickly and communicate with others about new
high-order technical issues in simple common terms. I enjoy an environment that requires artistic creativity as a component of the work and so I have
often sought projects that combine media experience and technologies with the ‘nuts and bolts’ of ‘back-end’ repositories to create unique and
attractive software.
