Preschool Assignment
Essential Question: What must preschools include? How might the
physical structure of a preschool accommodate preschool-aged children
and their development?
Assignment
In small groups 2-3, you will create the ideal pre-school. Your product
may be either:
 A 3-Dimensional Model of a Preschool with explanations
OR
 A booklet for Parents about a Preschool
You must include:
1. Name of the Preschool
2. A drawing, illustration, or 3-dimensional model of the layout of the school



Whole Building – label offices, halls, classrooms, kitchen, play
areas, etc.
Model Classroom – create one classroom as a model for all the
classrooms (equipment, fencing, parking, etc.)
Outside/Playground – Label equipment, fencing, parking area, etc.
3. Informational Pages/Letter to the parents, addressing the following:
 The schedule and activities for a typical day
 The importance of learning through play
 The encouragement of language development
 An appreciation of cultural and ethnic diversity
 The enhancement of the social, emotional, mental and physical
development of the children
