Irish History Students’ Association Annual Conference
28 February–2 March 2014
Mary Immaculate College
The organising committee, on behalf of the Department of History, is pleased to announce
that the Irish History Students’ Association (IHSA) annual conference will be held at Mary
Immaculate College, Limerick from 28 February –2 March 2014.
Proposals for papers are welcomed from both undergraduate and postgraduate students in
Ireland on any historical topic or period, and those studying Irish history abroad.
Abstracts of no more than 300 words for 20 minute research papers (approx. 2,500–3,000
words) should be submitted, along with a short biography of 100 words, no later than 15
February 2014, to: IHSAConference2014@gmail.com
Papers may be submitted and presented in English or Irish
Various prizes are on offer for best papers:
Church of Ireland History Society Prize
Robert Dudley Edwards Prize (undergraduate)
Irish Economic and Social History Society Prize
Saothar Prize for Irish Labour History
Women’s History Association of Ireland Prize
Military Heritage Annual Award
Diarmuid Whelan Prize in Political and Intellectual History
