Description of task:
Twentieth Century personality – Albert Speer

Research and present a 15-20 minute powerpoint presentation on the
following topic:
‘History is about winners.’
How accurate is this statement in relation to the personality you have
studied?

Include annotations for TWO sources within your Bibliography. Your
annotations should assess the source for its usefulness and reliability in terms
of your research on Speer. Each annotation should be no more than 100 words.
In addressing this topic you should:
 Present a brief overview of the life and career of Albert Speer.
 Identify and explain relevant historical issues within his career with the Nazis
and in wartime Germany as well as the period after the war up until his death.
 Analyse the accuracy of the quote above as applied to Speer’s life, career and
historical relevance, using the debates and conclusions of a range of
historians to support your conclusions.
 Acknowledge sources consulted and used using the Harvard system and a
correctly-formatted Bibliography.
 Submit a written transcript of the content of your presentation to
www.turnitin.com by the due date (details to be provided in class).

Twentieth Century Personality. Suggested links to relevant historians can be


Your presentation should be adequately referenced with sources, statistics
and quotes used. Even if you paraphrase the idea of a historian/book, you
should reference this using the Harvard system.

You should divide your Bibliography under headings separating resources
into – books, journals/newspapers, websites and documentaries/movies.
Remember to give the author, URL and date accessed for internet
material and the author, date of publication, title, publisher and place
of publication for print material.
